What the children will learn
Throughout the week, children will engage in hands-on visual arts and performing arts, learning how stories can be expressed through both art and movement.
Visual Folk Arts Exploration
Children will explore and create artwork inspired by global folk traditions, including:
- Mandala Art – mindful art focused on balance, focus, and geometry
- Papel Picado – Colorful cut-paper banners with symmetry
- Japanese Origami – art of paper folding, deriving from “ori” (fold) & “kami” (paper)
- Warli Art – using symbols and figures to tell everyday stories
- Lippan Art – featuring intricate clay patterns with small, reflective mirrors
- Bagru Block Printing – fabric printing using repetition and design
- And Many More global art forms
Each art form is introduced in an age-appropriate way, with an emphasis on creativity and storytelling.
Theatre & Performing Arts Exploration
Alongside visual art, children will participate in daily informal skit sessions that focus on:
- Expression and body movement
- Voice and stage presence
- Teamwork and collaboration
- Confidence and communication
Children will work together to learn and rehearse a short skit based on a universal theme such as community, nature, imagination, or collaboration.
Integrated Learning
What makes this camp unique is to learn how art and theatre are connected.
- Stories created in art sessions come alive on stage
- Children learn to express the same idea visually and physically
This interdisciplinary approach helps children deepen understanding, build confidence, and think creatively across mediums.
The week culminates in a special Art to Stage Showcase for parents and caregivers. This is a proud moment for children to present their work, speak about their creations, and perform on stage.
